Counterpoint Academy offers full-day kindergarten for preschoolers our Ottawa and Kanata Ontario locations.

Junior Kindergarten: In the year a child turns four years old, children enter JK in September.  (Some children enter JK at three years old, then turn four by December 31st.)

Senior Kindergarten: In the year a child turns five years old, children enter SK in September.

Providing the strongest foundation possible of phonics and mathematics and school-aged independence.  In our JK class, the full kindergarten curriculum is covered.  In SK, students review the kindergarten curriculum, and begin grade one level content and skills.  We allow children to reach their early learning potential by setting high, consistent standards and showing children how to achieve those standards.  The children's work and skills speak for themselves!

A full day of learning includes a morning of calm, focused time for core academics such as language arts, math, and core French, and the active hands-on afternoons give children more opportunity to explore and discover.

100% of our preschool, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten fees are tax-deductible.  The registration process begins with a parent visit to the school. Book your visit today!

  • Science - hands-on activities: Every science class involves hands-on fun!  Children in kindergarten also learn the early foundations of experimentation, "What will happen next? Let's see!" and recording observations with pictures.

  • Music & Drama: Singing is an important component of musical development as well as literacy and language development!  Children learn the flow of language, pronunciation, vocabulary as they sing!  A varitey of Orff instruments are used to supplement the program, as children also learn the basic concepts of music (e.g. beat, rhythm, melody)
  • Physical Education: Active afternoons! Continued gross motor development, running and playing is important for young, growing kindergarten children!
